RSI – Road Status Information – is an application for reporting and predicting road climate conditions, allowing you to plan operations and track performance. RSI is currently used by several major Swedish road maintenance organisations facilitating improved performance in winter conditions.

The application allows the user to make current and forecast assessments of road areas, evaluating treacherous conditions. The warning triangles in the picture above depict connected cars experiencing less friction (less than 0.25μ) at the aggregate level. The user can zoom in to specific on-ramps and off-ramps (slip roads) and sections of road to determine the prognosis for slippery or treacherous conditions.

RSI provides the user with accurate road climate data to determine salting levels for individual road sections and for the entire road maintenance area.

Unique industry software

RSI 2.11 combines data from weather forecasts, VVIS data (from the Swedish Transport Ministry), environmental and topographical factors with real-time information from a network of connected vehicles.


Connected vehicles

RSI 2.11 obtains unique data from a network of connected vehicles. Road friction analysis between tyres and the road surface provides input to the road climate data, simultaneously providing a current image of the real-time road network.
